The Authority is one of the newest bands that emerged this 2005; but new doesn't necessarily mean novice. With lead singer Juan Miguel Salvador at the helm, this band rocks! With 2 kick-ass guitarists and 2 synthesizer wizards; Add to this the highly infectious rhythms driven by his talented bass player and drummer, one can expect rich sounding renditions of some of the toughest pop-rock hits ever released. Covering 3 decades of music, The Authority livens up the bar scene with highly energized performances fit for a stadium. Having been in the music scene for the last 25 years, Juan Miguel knows how to work the audience with his repertoire of songs from artists such as U2, Billy Joel, Billy Idol, A-ha, Meatloaf, Robbie Williams, Tears for Fears, Greenday, Dead Eye Dick, Rick Springfield, Toto, Queen, Matchbox 20, many more. This Manila-based band is composed of a mean blend of talented musicians who take their music seriously. Their having been formed only last February of 2005 has astounded fans and critics alike. With Lead-Singer and 80’s rock icon JUAN MIGUEL SALVADOR (also a Keyboardist) at the helm, the carefully hand-picked members already with each his own extensive live and studio experience with their former groups, easily adapted to each others musical styles and in just a few months have quickly metamorphosed into one tight unit. The diversity of influences that has come together allows for a truly creative collaboration among them. Singer/Arranger/Song-Writer & Jingle-Maker Juan Miguel’s strongest influences are Elton John, Billy Joel, Billy Idol, and 80’s New Wave & Pop-rock bands such as U2, Tears for Fears, A-ha, Spandau Ballet, George Michael, etc. All of which can be heard in his unique vocal tonality. From his acrobatics at the keyboards and the way that he struts on center-stage, it is so apparent that he sings and performs from the heart and soul. Bass Player ALVIN SORIANO is a classical guitar major who shifted to playing the Bass guitar after listening to Jaco Pastorius, Marcus Miller and other Jazz greats. His rock influences are Rush, Yes, Led Zep, Sting & Red Hot Chili Peppers. Drummer AUSTIN FARINAS, whose playing style was honed during the late 80’s & early 90’s, considers Mike Portnoy, Ringo Star, Virgil Donati & Dave Weckl as his greatest influences. He is a big fan of Pearl Jam, Nirvana and The Foo Fighters. Guitar Players BONG DELA CRUZ and JUN ALICANTE come from two totally different molds. Bong’s roots are from the 80’s & 90’s era but he has a wide base when it comes to musical taste. He listens to Pop, Jazz, Soul, Rock, Orchestra & more. His guitar heroes are Steve Lukather, Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert, Frank Gambale & Lee Ritenour. Jun on the other hand has his style anchored on the likes of Van Halen, Ingwi Malmsteem, Joe Satriani & Carlos Santana. He started playing during the 80’s as well, playing the music of Bon Jovi, Guns & Roses, Doobie Brothers, The Eagles, Journey and the likes. Keyboard Player JAY AGUSTIN. He enjoys listening to New Wave, Pop-Rock, Fusion and Standard music. He is also a sucker for 80’s Pop-Ballads. Ask him about his influences and it will always begin with Dream Theater. Toto, Shakatak & Oscar Peterson are close seconds. The Authority was a name that naturally popped up on Juan Miguel’s mind during the bands conceptualization & Band Manager Sheril Sugi couldn’t agree better that it is a name that befits a band whose music commands attention and whose performing style is definitely it’s A.C.E.; an acronym for Arresting! Captivating! & Electrifying!Have you performed in front of an audience?We do lots of gigs and special events. We love it! We give 200% at all times, even at regular bar stints. Special moments do come in the form of crowd reaction to the bands playing. Nothing can be more rewarding.

This band is fantastic- the electricity generated from their performances is amazing. Have been fortunate enough to watch them at various venus - Strumms, 19 East, and private party, and allperformaces were out of this world. Such a professional group of people, an absolute pleasure to deal with. You Rock!!!!
