Sick of whiny rock bands? Fed up with phony attitudes? Disgusted by depressed lesbians howling over some half-ass country tune? If so, THE ASSHOLES might just be your bag, baby! With songs ranging in subject matter from the school retard in "Dordy Made a 40", to hoping an ill-fate befalls your ex-girlfriend in "Finally Over", THE ASSHOLES are a hilarious blend of locker-room humor and quality musicianship. In other words, THE ASSHOLES are the alternative to the alternative.
MUSIC: Guitar-driven party rock that covers all musical styles with patented, over-the-top Asshole lyrics. Quality entertainment for the whole family!
ACCOMPLISHMENTS: 1998 and early '99 was, and has been, a busy time for THE ASSHOLES. In addition to writing many new songs and doing countless gigs for their 'zillions of fans, THE 'HOLES have received numerous spins on the KLSX (97.1 FM, Los Angeles) Sheena And Sam Show, as well as the KLSX Nasty-Man Show. The tune "Proud to be an Asshole" was adopted (with permission, of course) by Tampa's top morning DJ, "Bubba the Love Sponge", as his theme song. Both "Proud to be an Asshole" and "Sex Maniac" have been streaming on the net via KNAC. The song "Finally Over" was used in the 1998 Universal Pictures movie, "Bride of Chucky", and THE ASSHOLES have consistently been one of the top requested bands on LA public access television's "Kruzin' Kenny Show". Recently, after bringing the house down during a sold out, three night stand at McRed's, the local LA rock magazine Rock City News asked the questions, "Where has LA been hiding these guys and why aren't they rich and famous already?" (Good question!) The band's website, www.theassholes.net, receives hundreds of hits a day and also serves as the official Asshole-On-Line (AOL) merchandise and souvenir shop. In this reporter's not-so-humble opinion, these signs point to a moneymaking proposition.Have you performed in front of an audience?Yes, play live. Anywhere that'll have us! And yes, we love it. There's nothing like seeing a bunch of screaming kids jumping up and down. Moshing, diving, you name it! It's a rush like no other. As far as special moments go, every show we do always has its own, and they seem to always get better and better.
