The Spotlight on TAA _________________________________________________________ A distinct family-like chemistry, generated by members coming from very different music style backgrounds, is one that brings attention to the hard work and dedication demonstrated by the Midwest’s newly formed alternative rock band, The Actress Adorable.

After carefully selecting three songs, The Actress Adorable entered the studio to record their three song sampler release, When Did Summer Begin. The album was recorded in Cedar Falls, IA at the Barn Studio by producer Christian Brown. Just as the summer quickly passes us by, a lifetime of missed opportunity can bear a high regret. When Did Summer Begin captures the essence of appreciating life’s common treasures which, unknowingly, we so often take for granted, and strives to express the importance of living life to the fullest. The highly anticipated album is scheduled for release in late February. Front man Bryan Van Veldhuizen and guitarist Jesse Barnes first came together in July of 2007, adding Mike Hutton on bass, Eric Garcia as a second guitarist and drummer Mitchell Seehusen. After working on numerous musical concepts together, Mitchell, Eric, Mike, and Jesse decided to take a break from their previous metal roots and join forces with Bryan to create music encompassing the more in-depth issues of life as well as focusing more on the quality of melodies and lyrics. Not long after breaking into the song writing process, The Actress Adorable brought their newfound inspiration and stylistic qualities together to form their first song Breaking Hearts Bleed Ink. Growing in the wake of determination, a very distinct collaborative writing style erupted which became the styling foundation for songs such as When Did Summer Begin and Crayons. Within the next few months, even more sounds continued to shape the future set list as the writing pool was quickly deepening. When queried by producer Christian Brown during a recording session, Bryan touched on some of the meaning behind the song title selection. “Well, Breaking Hearts Bleed Ink was inspired by the idea that when you have a broken heart your emotions and feelings are all expressed through writing those ideas down onto paper with ink, and just like the blood flowing through your body keeps you alive, the words that you put down in ink are sometimes the only thing that keep you going during tough times. When Did Summer Begin focuses on the beauty of taking chances.” Lead guitarist Jesse adds “It’s like going all-in during a high stakes game of love.” All dreams included, The Actress Adorable is currently writing material and plans to release a full length debut album later this year, as well as taking weekend show road trips and nationwide hopes to the next level in pursuing a full-time touring career. ____________________________________________________________ www.myspace.com/theactressadorable www.purevolume.com/theactressadorable
