The A Cappella Fellas
Hey Everyone!
We're a group of 5 guys and we sing all contemporary acappella music. We have a wide range of styles and borrow from many different genres. Anything from country, to pop, to hiphop, and from many different decades too.
We hope you all like what we do!
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
The A Cappella Fellas first came to be a group in June of 2003. Although not having any actual group name, or idea where this whole thing was going, the original group of 7 members had their first gig singing their only 2 songs at a relatively small church function, in front of 20 people at best. It was from these modest beginnings that the group's talent and love of performance began to shine through.
That summer, The A Cappella Fellas found a new way to perform: busking. They began going downtown to Stephen Avenue and Eau Claire Market and just singing on the street, more for the sheer enjoyment of it rather than the spare change of passerbyers. However, from the reaction of their audiences and the constant crowd around them, it became evident that the Fellas could stand to get some actual gigs under their belts.
Shortly thereafter, through the collective efforts of the group, opportunities began to arise exponentially. Their repertoire began to grow, and more organizations began to show interest. Gigs over the next 5 months included The Bay, repeat appearances at Sears, Genstar's Home for the Holidays Event (where they had the opportunity to sing Happy Birthday to Mrs. Ralph Klein), Show Stoppers for Crime Stoppers, and a multitude of private functions including birthdays, anniversaries, and Christmas parties. Not only this, but they have also launched their own official website!
Through all of this, The A Cappella Fellas have become the group they are now. With their now 5 members (Ben Perrin, Dave Hardman, Matt Ball, Will McClary, and Jared Vincent), this vocal group has already accomplished so much in very little time... and have their hearts set on accomplishing so much more in the very near future.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We actually perform just about anywhere that will have us. Bdays, anniversaries, corporate parties, busking on the street, school workshops, etc!
Your musical influences
Between the 5 of us there is such a wide range of musical influences. Garth Brooks, Frank Sinatra, NSync, Great Big Sea, The Beach Boys, The Beatles, Usher, Green Day... the list goes on and on, and gets more diverse.
What equipment do you use?
NONE! All a cappella. If anything, we just use 5 mics.
