A BRIEF HISTORY OF ABADDYON (by JUAN M. VÉRTIZ - Founder) Ive been developing The Abaddyon Project since the year 2000. It all really began as a regular metal band, but some notions start to flow in my mind through time and space. First of all, Im from Mar del Plata, Argentina (South America), a very unussual place to make this kind of music, which is a combination of metal, classical music, progressive Rock, folklore, ballad,and all this in a foreign language to me: in English!. So, as you can imagine... is not that easy to spread this art. You know, Ive always want to make a full spectacle surrounding my music, with scenography, guest musicians and a whole concept as a center topic. In the beginning, I had a stable formation on my band, and the name and orientation of all the matters changes a lot.
After some replacements in the line-ups, I took the full control of the project. Ive started the writing of the Myths of Arghlan and his corresponding music. In actual times, I have the 3 first albums ready, with arrangements and all the stuff. In a few weeks were gonna release a new Ep called: The Lions Gate, now with a clear design to follow as the professional musicians we are. Our music style has changed a lot: from basic power metal to an unclassifiable kind of heavy music; with more symphonic colours and different ambiences. Actually, we have the capacity to make a soft ballad, a progressive song, a black metal ambience with melodies, and so much more.Have you performed in front of an audience?Weve played in several stages of our country, promoting our band and collecting fans.

Symphony X, Pain of Salvation, Dream Theater, Classical and soundtracks music, 70s prog bands. Contemporary composers, and so many, many more!What equipment do you use?

Myths of ARGHLAN concept:
Ive been processing the whole concept since 1999, when I was 17, and it changes a lot, of course.
...Ok, in the beginning I was only a guy who heard too much power-epic bands and read only Tolkien and stuff. But, through the years Ive interested in some serious matters from a different point of view. Ive developed a historic novel with some fiction ingredients, but not too many. I really hate now the whole dragon, castle, warriors, bravery thing; but I really love history as a reflection of the present times. Cause, you know... same troubles, with different technologies. Thats because my story has some battle chapters, but focusing more on the human problems, like love, hate, fear, greed, temptation and religious doubts, and not in the I love war, Im so brave line. My characters has insecurities, fears, pain and resentment too.
The fiction part is not that obvious (not really the Unicorns type). You have to know some geography and global culture. Ive always receive the same question: - Woow, was this really hapenned?. No, my friends...its just a world created by my insane mind.

The Myths of Arghlan is a Tetralogy, and Ive planned one record for each story of this Realm. What follows is an historical introduction and, when we release our first official album, the Chronicles of the Lightguardians will start.
