Whats good, name is niQ, I'm a beatsmith, and or producer, and or a person who makes beats and instrumentals depending on your terminology. At the end of the day all I try to make is good music and thats all I care about label it however you like.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Started off as ReallyReal, Then teamed up with TheHardKnox, now here I am. Been making beats and instrumentals for a while now If that helps. Somethin like 5 or 6 years now...
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
No... I would love to though.
Your musical influences
I like all types of music from Hip-Hop, to Classical, to Country(yes a few country songs)... Mostly I like Hip-Hop (the real shyt, not the watered down radio cuts), Soul, Jazz, Blues, R&B, Rock, and House/Techno, oh and some overseas genre too. I really dont discriminate on any certain genre... good music is good music you know. As far as Musicians go, I'm a Wu-tang fan for life, J-Dilla, Dj Premier, Statik Selektah, Jimmy hendrix, Slash (Guns & Roses) 9th Wonder, Alchemist, Beatles, Kanye, Madlib, Jin, hieroglyphics, Jay-z, Nas, Pac, Big Pun, Big L, Notorious B.I.G, Kool G Rap, Big Lou, John Mayer, Busta Rhymes, Beanie siegel, Jadakiss/D-Block, SRV, Common, Lupe Fiasco, Joell Ortiz, Crooked I, Joe Buddens, Just Baze; fan. Those are are just a few... There are so many more im forgetting but thats all I can remember off the top of my head...
What equipment do you use?
I could tell you....But I dislike people who think the equipment makes the music When in actuality its the Musician playing the equipment. Thats like saying its the Pen and the Paper not the emcee you know? I'll just let you know I have a good amount of Hardware and Software that I use, But with out "MY MIND" all that gear wouldn't mean SHYT real talk.... If it came down to me using two sticks, a stone and half a leaf I'd still find a way to make good music, real talk.
