Before becoming a monk he played in many bands as a guitarist. Some noted musicians he played with include Ken Hicks (former trumpet player for Stan Kenton), Sheryl Crow, Eric Kirshner (former guitarist for Three Dog Night), and many very good players and singers over the years.
