Temple of Blood has taken the classic works of Megadeth, Judas Priest, Annihilator, Iron Maiden, Fates Warning, and Dark Angel as their inspiration and are boldly moving forward with no regard to following trends or insulting the intelligence of their listeners. Their music is a soundtrack to the coming Apocalypse, a herald of the war between good and evil, with lyrics based on Biblical stories, teachings, and prophesies. Sophisticated but never pretentious, exciting and energetic but focused and intelligent, with great playing and timeless songwriting all the while.
Now Temple of Blood's debut album "Prepare for the Judgement of Mankind" has finally been released to accolades from the secular and Christian markets. The album features 10 scorching tracks of pure Metal adrenaline. It also includes a bonus track which is a Deadly Blessing cover song with mind-blowing vocals provided by none other than Deadly Blessing's own legendary screamer Ski himself! This album is sure to appeal to those with a fondness for all the metal classics of yesteryear or those who are looking for metal bands who stand above the pack.Band/artist history
Temple of Blood's mission of thrash and heavy metal annihilation began in late 2001 when main songwriter, guitarist, and vocalist Jim Mullis recruited Lance Wright on drums from death metal powerhouse Spinecast, who was known for his blistering footwork behind the drum kit. Garth Lovvorn joined not long after on bass guitar from technical death metal masterminds Fleshtized, and was known for his intricate bass playing and commanding stage presence. They soon demonstrated their sonic assault to eager crowds playing cover songs from many classic Metal bands like Iron Maiden, Metallica, Overkill, Death, Annihilator, and many more. A long-time friend of Jim's named Matt Barnes was very impressed with what he heard from the group and wanted to be part of the band. He relocated from New Hampshire to Alabama to join Temple of Blood as their lead guitarist. Matt added the much-needed final component to the band with his great songwriting, incredible rhythm playing, and tasteful soloing. In 2006, they were joined by Jim Lewis on bass guitar, who had previously played with progressive metal masterminds Antithesis.Have you performed in front of an audience?Yes, we play with pretty much anyone who wants to play with us.
