This site is music from Shakespeare's _The Tempest_, composed and arranged by Joseph Pehrson and presented by Pulse Ensemble Theatre, Aug.-Sept. 2001 in Manhattan. All the music on this website was composed in "meantone" (1/4 comma) tuning, which was the tuning used in Shakespeare's day...
Your musical influences
Much of this music for the Tempest is actually arranged music from Shakespeare's time. I tried to only use composers who conceivably would be writing at the same time as the play. Of course, I also use electronic effects and some modern tunes... Composers include John Dowland and William Byrd.

heya i am very into shakespeare recently. i downloaded all your songs and find it hard to comment since they really form one overall work. the songs can not stand on themselves i mean. i liked the old church feel of arielsleadingmusic. i will listen to the whole 25 minute play later defenitely.
