TEF-XL, holds the voice of many and provides his audience with a solid presence, unique street philosophy, accompanied by a dynamic and witty rap style. TEF-XL is a long awaited, and rare contribution to urban music.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
As a seasoned emcee, TEF-XL brings a diverse and complex perspective to urban music. TEF-XL first hit the local music scene in Jacksonville, FL with a conglomerate of emcees known as E.A.S.T U.N.I.T. As a unit they performed multiple shows throughout the Southeastern region and acquired much respect. TEF-XL, also retained a dark side, known as a notorious hustler on the streets. After frequent encounters with law enforcement and near death experiences, TEF-XL made a promise to himself, his daughter and the game, that he would acclaim respect as a scholar and give documentation to the streets from which he came. To accomplish such a task TEF-XL revamped his hustle and flooded the streets to accumulate money to attend college, and then pursue his music career. When asked why he chose to attend college, TEF explains "I didn't want my daughter to use me as an excuse for not pursuing a higher education. In fact, I didn't want her to take education lightly. So I figured I would lead by example." On May of 2000, C. Terrell a.k.a Tef-XL acquired his Doctorate in Pharmacy (Magna Cum Lade), proving the odds can be beaten. Despite this accomplishment he realized that he still had a promise to the game, which he must fulfill. “Minority Report” is that promised documentary that takes you further into the reality of street life and the mind of a true crime boss. TEF-XL is guaranteed to satisfy an intellectual diet, while winning the soul of hustlers, and others with his melodic flow and emotional tone. With such a diverse array of styles, fans of TEF-XL will easily satisfy their intellectual appetite.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
No doubt! No better way to expose the fans to my high energy. As an aspiring artist, I have had the opportunity to open for national artist such as: the late Notorious BIG, Wu-Tang, Cash Money, Outkast and various others whom performed in local clubs in Jacksonville, FL. I've also performed in Columbia, South Carolina for Juvenile. I can't remember the stadium though!

Minority Report is a self titled depiction of a hustlers everyday struggle with accepting his way of life, despite ambition of achieving something greater. The introductory song “The Rebirth” skillfully captures early image of TEF XL and his first near death experience as a teenager. Powerful songs like “Kill Me” captures the current mind state of anyone who has proclaimed success over denial. Spiritual tones depicted with “Devotion” embraces the loss of words many have when facing life's challenges. Unforgettable references are immortalized with “Un forgotten.” While the album self titled hit “Minority Report” paints visual stains of a hustlers acclamation to maturity, byway of building a triumphant affiliation, and elaborately details the consequences of such triumph. Amidst these audio-bibliographies are strong documentations of lyrical genius (“Legends”) and hypnotic production (“Pretend”) catered to the imagination. Not to mention the hit wonders :”Hustler” and “GO”. Minority Report is that album which reaches deep within the human consciousness, arousing a range of emotions, lifting the spirit, and sparking the imagination.”
