Gregg Allen a.k.a g-dub- Keyboards /Producer Dhana Vocals Named after the bouncy dolls seen in back of Taxi cabs, Taxi Doll was formed in 2004 to bridge the gap between pop rock and electronic music. Inspired by a mix of Garbage meets The Chemical Brothers meets Blondie , Gregg and Dhana often refer to the sound as “Rocktronica”. We want to make edgy rock music that people can dance to,”. Dhana’s fusion of classical and contemporary vocal training and multi-cultural background (native European of Spanish and German decent), gives her complete freedom in her expression. Her range and style allow her sound to resonate at the highest sweetness and penetrate to the deepest darkness. Her playful and sensual lyrics give the listener an insight that Dhana is sensitive enough to be vulnerable yet strong enough to dare. Her voice knows no boundaries, making you surrender to her passion for music. Gregg’s motivation to create this project came from the years of marketing experience spent at Astralwerks/Virgin working with the pioneers of dance music; Fatboy Slim, The Chemical Brothers, The Basement Jaxx and more. “These projects changed everything for me. The sounds were bigger and more exciting to me than any bands at the time. After hearing these artists, I would constantly hear people say, this music rocks!” Gregg and Dhana met in late July through mutual producer friends who realized they both had the same desire and vision for creating this unique style of rock/dance. “The writing process has never been so easy and fun.
