Taryn Murphy is a songwriter and music artist from Washington State now residing in Nashville, Tennessee.
Credits include placements on nearly all major television networks as well as three feature films, “Wisegirls”, “A Perfect Life” and the recent blockbuster, “Burn After Reading”.
She has penned two #1 singles for other artists including, “Almost Sorry/Zachem Pridumali Lyubov”” by International pop star Sergey Lazarev and, “Smile” by the stunning Ani Lorak.
Many people know of her as a result of her song, “Make It Go Away” which was featured in the 2002 movie, “Wisegirls” (Starring Mariah Carey)
Upcoming projects include releases by Pop Idol Holland winner, Nikki Kerkhof and Irish group, Dance To Tipperary both set to debut in March 2010. Taryn’s song, “Return To Me” is the title track and upcoming single for Tipperary’s album which also includes a version of her song, “Never Let It Go”.

Band/artist history
I grew up in a very musical family. We all played instruments, did the whole "family band" thing for 8 years touring around, making a living playing music. Was pretty cool. Eventually I moved to Nashville and that's where I am now.. still doing my thing.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I love playing live but am predominantly working in the recording studio. Hoping to change that soon.
Your musical influences
Early on Definitely Mariah Carey! Taylor Dayne, Celine Dion, then of course, Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson, Pink, all of the powerhouse female vocalists. Now it's more on the singer/songwriter side... John Mayer, James Morrison, Rob Thomas.
What equipment do you use?
Well I am a loyal Mac computer user. (go Apple!) Been recording with Pro Tools for 6 years... I love my Rode K2 microphone but am always looking to ad to my collection.

I am releasing an EP this month titled, "Anything Everything" which is designed in part to help fund my actual "official" album. I'll be posting details soon!
