TAPWATERZ
If you mixed together Notorious B.I.G’s catchy flows, 2pac’s heart felt lyrics, Nas’s innovative concepts, and Eminem’s raw hold nothing back attitude you would get Tapwaterz. Named Tapwaterz because like water he has a fluid multi dimensional flow. His fans are attracted to his music because he is creative, real, and he writes his songs from his heart. Tapwaterz is the perfect combination of street smarts & book smarts, hardcore rap & intellectual rap, real life experience & imagination. Furthermore he is a survivor, a inspiration, and a role model to an untapped market of people in wheelchairs who are eagerly awaiting for a potent voice in a hip hop world in desperate need of some diversity. Tap says, “I believe God put me in this chair to show the world that people in wheelchairs can still make great music, look good, have style, party, and most importantly still live productive lives. My battle cry to the world is Don't let the Wheelchair fool you we are still here, some of us are still artist, still lyricist, still hustlers, and still gangsters, either roll with it or get rolled over”.Band/artist history
Tapwaterz was born Feb.19, 1981 in the South section of the Boogie Down Bronx New York. At the age of 17 he got accidentally shot by his cousin in the neck leaving him paralyzed from the chest down. Before the incident Tap was a teenage thug running wild in the streets of New York City rapping in a group called Nova with two friends and the same cousin who shot him. His future was looking bright until the tragic night his life was flipped upside down. While at his sister’s sweet 16 birthday party on Jan. 16, 1999 a friend of his was returning a 22 caliber handgun Tap let him borrow earlier that day for protection. In the process his cousin began to play with the gun and it went off. The bullet struck Tap in the neck immediately collapsing him to his bedroom floor where he passed out. When he woke up the next day he was in the Intensive Care Unit at Lincoln hospital and a doctor was standing over him telling him he would never be able to walk again, Tap was devastated.Your musical influences
