As a child, I mostly heard gospel and reggae in my house. My mom's jamaican and she's the singer, so my musical background was formed on the stuff she listened to. Going to church was a big part of me getting out of my shell, and realizing I had the talent to sing. When I was younger there were many "friends" who told me that i couldnt sing, but with the encouragement and support of others, I soon realized my full potential to sing...
I came into contact with BNB after attending New Life Fellowship for about 3 years, and I was approached to sing the hook on Heesun's "Child Welcome Home", and from there the rest was history. At first I was just singing hooks on many bnb songs, but then Craig S.O.G. approached me with the idea to create an album. It's been long and hard work since then, and of course balancing school and this album has definitely been a learning process.
I am very grateful to God for the constant opportunities to reach his people, and for the gift to write songs that people can relate to and enjoy. I realize I am not the typical "christian" artist, but i believe that christians go through struggles, and often many churches and people act as if christians are supposed to be cheery and perfect all the time, when the reality is struggles will come, but you can perservere and get through them. I did, and still am, and I pray this album that takes you through my journey will also lead you in the direction I found. May God Bless you always...Anything else?
