Tahir Jahi

Tahir Jahi meaning pure clean and dignity. I try to live by that. So you will hear it all in my music.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
TAHIR JAHI, COOL, COLLECTED, CONSCIOUS, AND HIGH ON LIFE. GOT MELANIN? More than just the slogan on Tahir Jahi's new line of T-shirts, it's the kind of thought-provoking Hip Hop Poetry this up-and-coming talent lives, breathes, and flows on the daily. Tahir Jahi has enjoyed abundant shares of shine and small successes ever since he began rhyming at the age of 17, on the release "Visions From the Third Eye" by The Vision crew. While other kids were squabbin' over tennis shoes and cutting class, a young Tahir Wilson was mastering a craft all his own, competing in local battles, performing on occasion, and honing an artistic, standout, and standalone mic style. Wilson connected with his peers for sure, but when it came to loftier goals, he felt some of them suffered from what he calls the Pittsburgh mentality: little ambition, no sense of working toward a goal collective. More, what's in it for me? and less How can I help out? So Tahir did what a lot of people his age did and still do in Allegheny County--he left--and headed south. He's just beginning to hit his stride, rockin' it live in-studio, preparing for an upcoming album release, and conducting artist interviews, writing articles, creating websites, and putting his Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (South Carolina State University) to good use. All the while, dude's always got pen to paper, nurturing his own career along the way.And the name of said upcoming album? 'Life,' Man!' Tahir enthuses. Life has influenced us all in many different ways. I just write down all my experiences and shares them with who ever is listening... Evidently a LOT of folks are listening in, including but not limited to B-Gyrl from B-gyrl.com, Paradise (X-Clan), Chuck D (Public Enemy), Canadian up-and-comer Trobiz, and all other conscious Hip Hop poets Tai comes in contact with. Don't sleep; hit him up for a press kit, and get on his mailing list. His conscious rhymes will feed your mind.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
