We are from the island of Mauritius, off the east coast of Africa. We use traditional rhythms (sega and seggae 6/8 and african 12/8) as a base, then layer more modern melodies and arrangements, and end up with music.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
3 of Tahé's members are ex-members of Kaya's band, the legend of Mauritian music (killed by police in a jail cell in February 1999) : Sabrina Simiette (singer),Gilbert Kupusamy (singer, drummer), Damien Elisa (keyboards). Marc Boulle plays guitar, Richard Hein plays bass, Johnny Joseph plays drums and percussion.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
At the moment only in Mauritius, but we have big plans...
