!Systems Crash! is experimentla in the sense that my writing style could change drastically from one day to the next. one day I might write something guitar driven, and the next could be totally electronic. Other people frequently add to my songs, but !Systems Crash! has been primarily my own solo project.
Kickdown has been the longest running musical project that I've been involved in, and is guitar driven in most cases. We had one song that was all electronic, but it was more of a cover of one of our own older songs that we no longer have a recording of.
Band/artist history
!Systems Crash! has been my own personal outlet for music since I moved away from the noerth eastern Ohio area, disbanding the band I formerly co-founded with Kevin Winstead, Kickdown.
Kickdown was formed when we were in high school in the mid to late nineties. We wrote and recorded eleven songs, but only six recordings are still circulating. We played only five live shows, but always had fun, and so did our audience. We plan to reform and write new material this coming summer of 2003. Names and monikers are subject to change as Kickdown seems to be a taken name, and !Systems Crash! never seems to be allowed in search engines.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Not currently.
Your musical influences
I am influenced largely by 1980's bands, mostly of the Wax Trax style and genre. Kickdown material also has some of that influence, but tends to sway more towards a heavy metal influence.
What equipment do you use?
Waldorf Microwave XTk, Yamaha DSR2000, Korg Electribe ES-1, Roland R8, Roland MC-500, Line 6 POD, Kramer 600ST, Samson S-Com 4, Zoom Studio 1201, Boss BR-532, Propellerheads Reason, Propellerheads ReBirth, Creative Wavestudio, Roland Tr-707, Yamaha PSR-410, Korg XD-5, Digetech Vo-Tech, and the list grows rapidly.
