Combine the flow and charisma of the great Shawn Carter, with the wit of the southern peace distrubting Ludacris and you have just had your first glimsp of the most breathing taking up and coming artist out of the south, Swif. Born Aaron Jenkins, Swif could very well be the spokesman for young adults who have overcome lifes numerous burdons downfalls and obsticles. Having been left at the hospital my his mother after his birth swif never really knew either of his parents but was taken into care by his grandmother and her boyfriend. Growing up never knowing his father and barely having contact with his mother swif never skipped a step promising his grandmother she would never have to work again once he got older. Always realizing his love for music she pushed him to further pursue his music and follow his heart and dreams. Not only a street smart husstler swif was no fool, setting his sights on being only the second person in his entire family to graduate from high school swif set his focus on making his grandmother proud by accomplishing something only one of her other grandchildren had done. In mid march however swif lost the most important person in his life when his grandmother suffered a massive heart attack right in front of his eyes dyning while he rushed her to the hospital only 2 months before his graduation. With this heavy chip on his shoulders swif continued his music and went on to be only the second person to graduate from high school in his immediate family. Bad news soon hit swif again when he leaved only 3 months after his grandmothers death his grandfather a man not even married to his grandmother, the man who acting as his family and took care of his grandmother himself and as well as his brother had passed away after a long hard fought battle with cancer. With this many would fold in their hand and call it quits, lose their mind maybe even going into a slump, but swif strived on.
After developing his talent since early 98 most would consider him a polished artist, however when asked what he thinks about being called a polished artist he will quickly let you know there is still room for much improvement. With this Swif remains one of the most humble artists regardless of his achievements. Just ask Wyshmaster (Basement Beats/Derrty Ent) who has been working with Swif since early 2003 and Soleternity (Bonecrusher, Bubba Sparxx, Youngbloodz) who has been working with Swif since late 98 early 99 and they will be quick to tell you beyond all his talent his humble persona is what really sets him above all others. With lyrical ability, breath taking flow and charisma Swif truly is a great artist and is quick to display this with lines such as Im sick with the lit aint a line I cant spit plus Im nauseas with the flow confuse lines like Vick, Im Swif emcees get severed with the quickness and have a magazine aimed at their bodies like mens fitness a line from Carolina Kings. After the split of his former group The Finest Onez, Swif partnered up with Tony Gunz (Anthony Dash) and formed Swif and Tony Gunz, later to be called The Carolina Kings a name given to them by WXHTs and street DJ Lucky Leon. Swif and Tony Gunz's biggest brake came in late 2000 when a song he recorded with friend Tony Gunz had been selected to appear on Midways NBA Ballers. The game was a huge success selling way over one million copies and earning an award for best original music soundtrack on a video game. Swif and Tony Gunz once again were featured on another Midway release entitled NARC. The duo also have appeared on numerous mixtapes released in North and South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Tennesse, California, Arizona, Mississippi, and up and down the entire east coast. The duo are currently working on their next upcoming mixtape due out early spring and are continuously working to take their career to the next level.Your musical influences
