Suthern Style
Suthern Style trax. Basically trying to create all original sounding beats without trying to sound like anyone else not to much. I also just started a few months back tampering with Big & Break beats. Really dru my interest when i discoverd what big beat was all about really similar to my stlye but not quite really the way I make beats. Honestly Im staying humble and dont take any critisism lightly. their so many talented beat men out there that its hard to just say who's best. I hope you can hear the heart beat of my music as well as see the potential in them of what they could become whenever I get theses hands on better equipment!
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Making beats has been like any other Hustle, over a period of time I developed a passion and a love for it. It became both a hobby and religion. A way to keep me away from all the bad things in the world and also out of trouble. I dont just make beats for money I have several other hustles as well. If I was to wake up tommorow and suddenly my numbers hit, and I won 1 hundred million dollars I would probably still be making beats. I would just have better equipment. It all really started back in early 2001 when I purchased a zoommrt machine before that I was making freestyle beats with no beat machine and no metronome. Just a casio keyboard that had 6 multi tracks for recording. I would be sitting there playing a note for 4-5 minutes strong all while trying to stay on beat. I would record my work to T.D.K cassetts just so my friends and cousins could hear what I've done new. My wife of three years would cirtically motivate my ambition. I was young and foolish and I had other things going on Like Budweiser Coke and Weed. Iguess thats why I felt like music became my religion because even now I don't know what I would be doing If it wasn't for this. I am now using an oldie but goodie BOSS DR-5, a Dimension C521 Desktop, a YPT 300 Yamaha, I use a inexpensive but effective M-Audio Mobile Pre Interface, and I still pull some sound out of the Casio every once in a while!
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I have had some of my beats played in the hole-in-the-wall-clubs. A few homies and my cousin dolocal shows every now and then and they might hear a beat and wanna use it so It goes down that way!
Your musical influences
36 Mafia, some old school playa fly was all I listen to at 1 point, but even though I loved them cats alot I still try to keep my own sound. but some of my trax you may hear a little bit of 316 or something!
