Suicide Solution

Suicide Solution is a Singaporean hard rock - heavy metal band founded by Joe Suicide in the mid 90's. The group got their moniker from the 1980 Ozzy Osbourne classic. The band is led and fronted by Joe Suicide - the group's lead guitarist / singer, main songwriter and lyricist. Joe is the only member of Suicide Solution to be a part of every lineup. Suicide Solution is notable for being one of the longest running, critically-acclaimed metal bands from Singapore, issuing three full-length albums (The Dark Adventures, Halloween Holocaust and Shake Well Before Abuse) and performing numerous live shows in their home country. In April 2008, the band returned to the live stage, performing twice at the The Esplanade Powerhouse Stage, The 2nd COMPASS Musical Extravaganza and at BandzOut 2008 and 2009. The lineup of Joe Suicide, Evigan X (rhythm guitar), Faust (drums) and Rudolf Stryker (bass) then entered TNT Studios to record Suicide Solution's third album, Shake Well Before Abuse at the legendary TNT Studio, recording their basic tracks together completely live over the course of three days with veteran engineer Ah Boy. The album's satirical cover art (perhaps a nod to Black Sabbath's Sabbath Bloody Sabbath) created by Spanish artist Raul Gonzalez and Hell's Labyrinth designer Mike Priest depicts a young metal fan being attacked by a demon and surrounded with nightmarish visions "after succumbing to the horrifying effects and shocking revelation of the devil's music". Shake Well Before Abuse was released on 22nd August 2009 on the band's own Media Corpse imprint and spawned the socio-political metal anthems Dead Men Walking and Zombie Nation, crowd-favorites Drugs N' Kisses and Dangerous Life (an ode to the proverbial glass ceiling in the Singapore music scene), and the brooding Love Is Stranger. An album launch was held at DXO to coincide with the album's release. Suicide Solution opened up the 2nd day of Baybeats 09', Singapore's biggest rock, alternative and indie music festival a week later at The Esplanade Outdoor Theater.
