Band/artist history
Subterranean Opus was formed in 1998. At the time of formation Subterranean Opus ( Sub O) consisted of two members, cousins MicDuela and Wantan. Both members were responsible for the music production and writing their own lyrics."Marijuana Music Vol.1" was their first music effort under Black Thirst.After two years in the making, "Marijuana Music" came out in the year 2000 on now defunct record label Black Thirst Entertainment, and was hailed as a classic by many. However, due to creative differences and contractual problems, Sub O left the Black Thirst label and decided to put out future efforts on their own. Sub O was affiliated with several skilled artists and decided to form an alliance by the name of Sunken Treasure.Sub O would collaborate with long time friend and spoken word artist Manchild Diallo, who would later become an official member of the group. The next offering was the 2001 "Sunken Treasure Compilation, Vol. 1", which showcased all affiliated artists and introduced a new group of artists from Virginia known as Night Predators (Nite P) formed by Wantan;this helped keep the Subterranean Opus and Sunken Treasure names buzzing. Since then Sub O and Nite P have been working dilligently on new material,to this day, copies of " Marijuana Music" and the "Sunken Treasure" CDs are still being bought and heralded as classic but still relevant authentic hip hop music.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yes,Sub O has performed in clubs and did radio promos to promote the group in the New York and Virginia markets putting out mixtapes, and doing shows here and there mostly in the NY & VA markets.Each session is a special moment cause we pride ourselves on making classics hitz.
