subject2change

subject2change has a limitless control of wicked sounds, absurdly low frequencies, sick beats, and vocals that'll make you feel every change, the way a change should always be. subject2change explores every aspect of musical twists, creating a new, oddly spacey sound. Made up of seventeen strings, more than 20 ear-pleasing effects, 5 drums, and deep soulful vocal cords, they put a sound in your head that will stay and haunt your every thought... Close your eyes, open your ears and you'll see the realization : everything in life is subject2change.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
subject2change was conceived in the midst of Spring 2002 A.D. by drummer Derrick Dickey & guitarist Ryan Bennett. Long time friend/guitar prodigy Tim Martin joined the band next, & helped complete the mood and idea of what was really going to happen. Derrick, Ryan, and Tim put out several ads and auditioned many bass players and singers, looking for one on the same level who would complete the overall sound. Eventually, bassist Chris Euton came on when referred by Dixie Duncan of Atlanta's own Tentilfour. The completion of subject2change came when vocalist Selby Baily (former guitarist/singer of Faultline ) joined the picture to paint in a very soulful and melodic mood. Everyone is now on the same page and ready to take over Atlanta and show you something you've all been waiting for...
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
subject2change plays all through the Atlanta scene, but not 4 or 5 times a month like a lot of local bands. You can't wear out your crowd like that. In the eyes of s2c, if you have one huge party with mad promotions...they will come...and bring their friends...then they'll tell theirs friends, then theirs, and so on. s2c is all about playing with Atlanta's best local bands within the same genre so the crowd won't be a depleted by a total buzzkill. Special moments: everytime the sticks pick up, the Mesa's turn on, the mic is grabbed, and everyone's feet buzz from the bass!
