Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Stefan Lane was born in The St. Peter's Hospital in New Brunswick, N.J. on March 7th, 1980. At an early age, his parents made him take piano lessons. Since then, He created such a love of music and filled his mind with ambitions and dreams. Stefan played live with many bands; trying to find something that sticks. "Yes it was fun, but it wasn't what I was looking for." So he took a different approach to music and created something new, using his love for gaming, cinematography, and dark imagery. He started high school wanted to draw, but came out so musically inclined it was sickening to friends and family. By the year of 2000, He started to spin/DJ/remix. Stefan wrote ambient house tunes, but nothing stuck until he began to study the style of jungle/drum 'n' bass. This was his true passion. Once Stefan started to learn the ropes, along came the movie and game samples. Gaining respect from other artist on the web, especially www.acidplanet.com! Currently, Styk Shift is spending almost all of his time writing and building towards his own releases.
