STRINGMAN
I'm STRINGMAN, I've been playing the guitar since 1987. I started out on new wave and was playing the bass. Eventually I really pushed myself to play the guitar. I may not be a fast player but I have the soul to deliver.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I played for a rap group caled NOVIA before and a folk singer named EGO during the mid 90's. It was also about this year that I had my own band studio called FRETWIRE. I was also an Audio Engineer for the late Greg Caro and his MAXTRAX PRODUCTIONS. Also played with a Jazz band called Revised.
Currently for 2007 I'm in a new rock group called SKYLINE. We play 60' and 70's rock. We played once for the VWoodstock.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Yes I do play live. But I was in hiatus in the scene for about 5 years. I only picked up my guitar again last 2005. It was in 2000 that I shelved mysel from playig music to the point that I wouldn't even dare enter a music store. I sold all my equiment and said to myself I had enough. But I guess once a musician, always a musician. I bought some gear again in late 2005.
Every Friday I frequent a place called PETE'S. It's a small private bar somewhere in Merville. I jam with a lot of other musicians who frequent that place. Genre is Blues, Jazz Fusion, and old Folk songs.
Your musical influences
I'm mainly influenced by the blues and Jazz Fusion. Although I started out on rock, my fingers led me to be slow and soulful.
As for major artist influence it would be Jimi Hendrix and jeff Beck.
