An acoustic-based, psychedelic pop duo, StrangeCloud formed in 1998 as a trio and quickly underwent various personnel changes. The current duo has performed relentlessly since fall 1999 and has released 3 highly successful indie CDs. While earlier projects focused on the acoustic, alt country sound, the newer material is more pop and rock oriented. The new CD was released on May 4, 2004.

Jeff and Fred begin live performances with a series of acoustic shows at coffee houses and bookstores. - released, quickly becoming a top selling CD on mp3.com with all featured songs hitting a #1 spot on the charts. Live shows continue throughout the Minneapolis-St Paul area. - Duo begins writing new songs and peforming them live. - StrangeCloud performs live regularly all year. Recording begins on the new CD with a definite change in style, incorporating more rock and pop sounds. - StrangeCloud invited to perform at Bob Dylan's 60th Birthday Party at the First Avenue nightclub in Minneapolis. Tom McDonald returns on lead guitar and harmony vocals for the peformance. - StrangeCloud's last live performance to date, at The Fine Line club in Minneapolis. - intense studio work for the new CD, while taking some much needed time off. - completing the recording for the new CD. - released " the group's third full length CD.

The current duo has performed relentlessly since fall 1999 at a variety of types of venues including coffee shops, bookstores, bars, clubs, and by invitation performed at Bob Dylan's 60th Birthday Party in Minneapolis, MN. We are currently taking a break from live performances, writing new material.
