Strait Jaket
Strait Jaket is a brutal mix of street punk, hardcore, and rock'n roll. They have a take no prisoners attitude. No EMO, No POP, No fashion, No sorry limp dick bullshit
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Strait Jaket formed out of the ashes of two local Star City bands The Jane DOz and The Outsteps.
We started with
Bob-E-Blast guitar/vocals
Jason O' guitar/vocals
Sickboy Bass/vocals
Matt O' Drums
And with this line-up we jumped into the studio to create our first demo in the winter of 2003. Then from there we started work on the first full length titled Strap You UP. But didn't finish due to complications.Needless to say we had creative diffrences with Sickboy who would rather not play fast brutal music and left on very good terms.
So then we adopted Patches our current bass player. He had been a good friend of the band for along time so it was a natural adaptation to the band. So we went back in to finish the Strap You UP cd. It went very well and only to 2 days to record & master.
Then we felt like we needed a front man and Bob-E jumped to the mic. We then got our very close brother at arms Mikey Mayhem to play guitar with us. His intensity and song writing is beyond the norm. Plus he is brutal to say the least. He does guest vocals on Breaking The Silence (Strap You UP CD).
And the current line up is this:
Bob-E Vocals
Jason O Guitar/Vocals
Mikey Mayhem Guitar/vocals
Patches Bass
Matt O' Drums/Vocals
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We love playing live, the intensity of our songs is felt better live. We play all around the Star City & the state of VA. We would like to tour this summer but with the new full length in the works it may not work out.

UPDATE:
The Style of the band has changed since Mikey & Patches joined the band... the tracks you can get do not reflect the attitudes or intensity of our new sound that we have worked so hard to acheive. With our new band mates we have developed in to a sound best described to as StreetCore. Its a mix of Rock, StreetPunk, OI, and Hardcore. Just wait to see what comes next. We have 2 split cds coming out plus another full length. Visit http://www.strait-jaket.com for more details
