Planxty Irwin & Fanny Power Planxty Irwin & Fanny Power
Two beautiful tunes by Turlough O'Carolan from 17th Century Ireland. This pairing was front page recommendation at GodsOfMusic.com and scored 9.8/10 in a enthusiastic review
We are a barndance band, playing for parties, weddings and all kinds of event. We also play "just the music" gigs at pubs all over the region. Our music is mostly traditional Celtic and English. We're adding more of our own stuff too.
Band/artist history
We got together purely to play barndances about 15 years ago. We'd all had varying enthusiams for a wide range of musical genres. Once we started practicing and arranging the tunes, the music took over.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
We play live all the time. It's what we do and what we love. Recording time is Sooo dry compared with "the real thing". For us, gigging is a night out with your best friends, doing what you love best for people who enjoy it AND THEN GETTING PAID!
Your musical influences
We've all been playing and listening for years and it all rubs off but our sound is us.
What equipment do you use?
We play:
Recorders:Mollenhauer & Moek
Flute: Yamaha
Guitars: Martin, Norman, Fender
Basses: Fender, Hohner
Keyboards: Roland

Beautiful tunes, folks. Frankly, I don't think you need any hotrapbeats :-) Although.....?
Where do you do your recording?
...Fanny Power was so beautifully played - it's nice to see someone sticking up for womens' rights too.
Thanks for the encouragement with our song you gave, I just listened to your song, and I liked it a lot, in fact our band is playing in a barn dance in a couple of weeks, but it's not the same style of music. Anyway, keep up the good work, hope to hear more soon.
