And the Walls Came Down
Some may say that the band Jeriko was formed by a mere twist of fate. Founding members Jeremy Roberts and Erika Wilcox would have to disagree. Both believe that God orchestrated their meeting from the beginning. Coming from such different backgrounds it seemed like an unlikely friendship. Jeremy’s upbringing was difficult. He experienced the devastation of divorce at an early age. Searching for truth he tried many dead-end roads and built many walls around himself. In January of 2002 he met Erika Wilcox. Erika Wilcox spent the majority of her life in an active church. She became a Christian at a young age. Both Jeremy and Erika had profound impacts on each other. Jeremy began to see how futile all the walls he created in his life were. He realized it was time for them to come down. In May of 2002 he gave his life to Christ. Jeremy and Erika had always had a passion for music. The summer of 2002 they began to write music and also were given the opportunity to play at many different venues. They decided to call themselves Jeriko. Jeriko has become both locally and regionally known. With a contemporary but a rock edge to it their music has a unique sound. They have played at many different venues in the southeastern region of the USA. Their goal is to minister to Christians and non-Christians through their music and their lifestyle. Reaching out to others with their music is what God has called them to do.
