Story behind the song
This song is basically a story of how a lone shepherd may have seen and witnessed the first Christmas.
Lyrics
While the flock was slowing, and the day about to fold
The sun had painted pictures on the land a lacquered gold
As I surrendered to my rest, in the quiet of the night
So, my vision drawn toward the sky, like fire bright.
A single star with a shine so new, it rendered me in chase.
The flock now stirred among themselves, as I prepared with haste
In following this light of hope, intrigued as to it?s worth.
Was I to be witness in the times of a King?s birth?
To be born. To be born. To lead. To show the way.
To be born. To be born. Our Lord be born this day.
To be called Jesus, To be called Jesus.
Recalling what the men had said, of visions in the night.
Of how an Angel spoke to them, whilst blinded by the sight.
Telling of the coming of the One who will be King.
Elated, drawn that I must go. If only praise to bring.
A hallowed sight beheld me as I entered in that shed.
Into the blessed stable and toward the manger bed.
The peace and holy tranquillity injected in the air
With the birth of Christ our Lord, our future to prepare.
He is born. He is born. To lead. The Son of man.
He is born. He is born. To lead us by the hands.
His name is Jesus, His name is Jesus.
While the day was dawning underneath the turquoise sky
The peace and pure serenity be quested me to rise
A witness to tell everyone, of glory seen that night
And from this day, with heart and soul to praise the birth of Christ
He is born. He is born. To lead. The Son of man.
He is born. He is born. To lead us by the hands.
His name is Jesus, His name is Jesus. He is our Lord!
