Story behind the song
This poor, broken-hearted old dude's best friend tonight is Jack Daniels.
Lyrics
One More Shot of Whiskey © 2007 Wild Bill Austin Verse 1 I'm here alone again, tonight. It's Friday. When she said, goodbye, it did a number on my heart. Been missin' time at work. It ain't been my day, And it's high time to let the healing start. Chorus Barmaid, bring me one more shot of whiskey. Please keep 'em comin,' 'til you see me smile. When all the ladies start to look like Britney, Then I'll forget my troubles for a while. Verse 2 No, whiskey will not bring her back, but it'll ease the pain. It's done the trick for me before, time and time again. Just like some old fool who won't come in out of the rain, I keep heading back to see my dear, old friend. Chorus Bridge When I need advice, I call Jack Daniels. I can count on Jack to understand. Don't need any operation manuals, Just a shot glass--and a bottle--and my hand. Verse 3 Honey, if I get too rowdy, just tell me so. I didn't come in here tonight to bother anyone. Just doin' what I can to keep from feeling low, And try'n to see if I might have some fun. So, . . . Chorus Friday June 22, 2007
