Solo Artist, composer, writer and musician
Ray Anthony’s sophomore album on the way Los Angeles, CA Ray Anthony has announced that his second album, “Man in the Night,” is due for completion this summer. It will be another surprising batch of his strikingly original style of pop rock music. His debut album was “The Quiet Storm.” Fusing a creative mix with unique production choices, along with catchy rhythms, unusual textures, earnest lyrics, a unique performance style and bubbling musical energy, Anthony brings a fresh perspective to the world of rock song writing. Songs like “Somebody To Save Me,” “Someday,” “I Want You To Tell Me” and “Just To Be With You” demonstrate Anthony’s ability to merge off beat ideas with mainstream pop rock sensibilities. He uses both keyboard and guitar in his music, bringing an extra dose of versatility to the table. This solo artist writes and records all parts of his songs. He has been a musician his entire life and has played with several bands throughout the years. He turned to writing his own material in 2004 and discovered a new passion within the realm of music. When it comes to writing his material, Anthony pulls heavily from the richness of real life. “The significance of all the songs in ‘The Quiet Storm” are how they relate to the experiences of my life and how they have affected me internally questioning why we do what we do and asking what we are looking for, not just in me but in all of us,” says Anthony. That, he explains, is “The Quiet Storm” in all of us. He admits that his music isn’t readily pigeonholed, but its lack of strict genre parameters is part of its originality and appeal. “I’m still evolving, but I don’t think I’ll ever be categorized as one type of musician or writer. I like all types of rock, dance and ballads even instrumentals.” Anthony is currently working with A&R Select, the world’s premier A&R firm based out of Los Angeles, CA. Lyrics
The Time Is Gone Music and Lyrics by Ray Anthony Copyright 2004 The nights are long since you’ve been gone, the days seem longer when nights pass on The love you felt is movin’ on I can’t believe now that you’re gone It’s like the waves that kiss the shore, it once was there but not no more When love has left and closes a door, it takes you down and rises no more You walked away and left me behind to make me think the fault was mine The sun has set within your eyes yet I always thought that you’d be mine You’ve taken me to a place I’ve never been to I walked away without you there You’ve seen the signs that were left before you but you can’t believe it’s here and now The time is gone you can’t go home, your life goes on though you’re all alone The dreams you shared will still remain but that time is gone you can’t go home I watched the sunrise like we use to and dream of holding you again I jump each time I hear the phone ring and hoped you might have changed your mind Whatever thoughts you’d left behind unlocks a door and blocks the mind We travel on in different times seeking out what was left behind I can’t believe wherever you may go that you won’t see what was left behind You walked away without a care to find a road you hoped was there I watched and I see all that you can be, whatever you choose let me know I can’t begin to understand it, whatever it is tell me now The time is gone before you know, we find ourselves on distant shores The life you choose may be your own but later on you’re all alone The time is gone you can’t go home, your life goes on though you’re all alone The dreams you shared will still remain but that time is gone you can’t go home The time is gone you can’t go home, your life goes on though you’re all alone The dreams you shared will still remain but that time is gone you can’t go home
