Poetry and Music
Greetings, fellow members of the world family, thank you for taking a moment to hear my songs.
My name is Bob McNeil. I am a writer and spoken word artist. In between doing freelance work for various magazines and newspapers, I work with my band, The Stanzas.
Story behind the song
Before I tell you about the song, I just want to say that all races should respect each other. I do not feel the need to use derogatory words about other races and ethnic groups. Bearing that thought in mind, I want other people to exhibit an equal level of respect for me. By virtue of the fact that this rap piece is entitled “No Black is a nigger,” I suppose the subject matter is self-explanatory.
Lyrics
No Black is a nigger
I knew Cushites,
Smarter than the Sun is bright,
Who made sciences
When others dwelled in ignorance,
I knew Cushites,
But never, ever knew a nigger.
No Black is a nigger,
The word is a corpse for a coffin maker.
No Black is a nigger,
The word is a corpse for a coffin maker.
No Black is a nigger,
The word is a corpse for a coffin maker.
I knew Africans,
Strong as lands are plentiful,
Who fought like lions
When the world was colonial.
I knew Africans,
But never, ever knew a nigger.
No Black is a nigger,
The word is a corpse for a coffin maker.
No Black is a nigger,
The word is a corpse for a coffin maker.
No Black is a nigger,
The word is a corpse for a coffin maker.
I knew Negroes
Who made nations grow,
I knew Blacks
With steel wills and backs.
I knew them all,
But never, ever knew a nigger.
No Black is a nigger,
The word is a corpse for a coffin maker.
No Black is a nigger,
The word is a corpse for a coffin maker.
No Black is a nigger,
The word is a corpse for a coffin maker.
