There's nothing I'd rather do than play music. I write my own songs, but also enjoy playing the work of Kate Wolf, Richard Thompson, the Grateful Dead, and many other musicians too numerous to mention. The songs I write tap into the same veins of insight, inspiration, and ecstasy that my favorite musicians channel so well.

Story behind the song
i work with a drum circle every wednesday night--trying to get us to do something coherent is like herding cats, but, like cats, we do get coherent pretty regularly--this, however, is me on all drums, not my drum circle buddies
Lyrics
the trees are dying, dying the trees are dying, dying the trees are dying, dying, dying they die for lumber they die for firewood they die for paper to fill landfills they die for pasture they die for highways they die for stripmalls and trailer parks they die from acid that eats their leaves off they die from insects beneath their bark they die from dryness they die from ozone they die 'cause goats strip them bare when too many trees die we can all say goodbye without them we won't last long
