Double Bed Blues ©2002 Ron Barnes Sax and organ intro Layin' on the bed and writing out a love song. Lookin' at the clock and wonder where the time has gone. It's two a.m. and I've got to rise at seven. Should have been asleep by eleven. But every time that I turn out the light, I Can't get to sleep and I think I know the reason why. This is a double bed and there is only One person in it and it sure feels lonely. Hey I don't know how I'm gonna lose These two o'clock in the morning double bed blues. Don't know what it is, but ever since I met you, Can't get you off my mind although I should because I'll bet you Have another guy who buys you rings and flowers. Still you occupy my every waking hour. I can't work. I can't sleep. Don't watch the TV. Don't answer the door when people come to see me. I drag around all day just feeling tired. Wouldn't be surprised if I soon I'm getting fired. Well, I wish someone else was in my shoes With these two o'clock in the morning double bed blues. Building castles in the air And I'm fantasizing love affairs. Just don't know what I'm gonna do. This isn't any way for days to wind up. I know she loves me. Wonder when she'll make her mind up. And tell me I'm the only one she wants to stay with. See the end of every loving day with. Well I guess you could call this paying dues. I got the two o'clock in the morning double bed blues.
