John 10:37, Matthew 5:16, John 8:39
Original inspirational music, ranging from hard rock to bluegrass.
Story behind the song
I always thought the traditional vision of heaven was pretty boring-spending the rest of eternity sitting on the same old cloud playing the same old song on the same old harp. I believe after this life is done, our Father still has plenty of work for us. Personally, I'm looking forward to it.
Lyrics
Some see Heaven as an eternal rest
Where you lay around all day.
Those who on this earth have passed the test
All get golden harps to play.
Walk those golden streets and sit on a cloud;
Watch the rest of time go by.
Sing hosannas to the praise of our Father in the sky.
I have had a job since I was a boy.
I take pride in what I do.
I would like to feel that same sense of joy
When my life on earth is through.
I know Jesus has a job for me.
He can use a willing heart.
In my Father's plan I want to be a working part.
CHORUS
It's a working man's Heaven and there's plenty to do.
'Cause our heavenly Father
loves the work of the ones like me and you.
In a working man's Heaven, we will never be bored.
In the service of Jesus, working miracles for the Lord.
ORGAN SOLO
Lots of people who could still use a hand.
Lots of broken hearts to mend.
I would like to think that I am the man
On whom my Father can depend.
Let me be the one to show them they way.
Let me be His hands and eyes.
Let me lead them to the
love and the joy that never dies.
It's a working man's Heaven and there's plenty to do.
'Cause our heavenly Father
loves the work of the ones like me and you.
In a working man's Heaven, we will never be bored.
In the service of Jesus, working miracles for the Lord.
Yes, it's a working man's Heaven
and there's plenty to do.
'Cause our heavenly Father
loves the work of the ones like me and you.
In a working man's Heaven, we will never be bored.
In the service of Jesus, working miracles for the Lord.
In the service of Jesus, working miracles for the Lord.
