Story behind the song
The fruitlessness of the church. The apathy, the lack of expection. The rote memory that disables true life that is experienced by dynamically seeking relationship with the Bride Groom. The hope that all can be transformed to life, even from what appears to be near-dead.
Lyrics
The Veil ©2001 Tim Wheeler To the barren bride of the fruitful groom Have you ever cried for your withered womb You could still abound though you're old and pale Won't you come around, let Him lift the veil Are you racked with fear, are you' paranoid 'cause you must adhere, and you must avoid Do you rest assured, in the one you're vowed Is He still obscured behind a fearful shroud Do you fear the change that your body must endure? or the pain that's sure to follow Do you find it strange that although you crave the cure The slightest change is hard to swallow Do you have a peace, though your life's a drag Like a Golden Fleece, in a burlap bag To the barren bride of the fruitful groom Do you know he died for your withered womb You'd be the blushing bride, but for one detail Let the groom inside, let Him lift the Veil
