Lyrics
Room to Run ©2003 Tim Wheeler Walked out this morning, looked out over my “yard” Figured out where they came up with the name Looked out over the neighbors, and the ones beyond ‘cept for the ‘casional swingset, pretty much the same (but there is) No Room To Run Caught behind these fences Spending all my time in beds that I’ve tended before No Room to Run Paying my expenses But I get the feeling that I could do much more if there was Room To Run. Settled Monday Morning into my Aeron Chair Surveyed my plush, expansive Cube Whenever I get restless or slip into despair I think I could be back at the Jiffy Lube (but there is) No Room To Run Stuck behind these stone walls Doing just enough to not get fired No Room To Run Take another phone call This is not at all what I desired No Room to Run Spent all those Sunsets Building up the walls, the roof, a floor Only to discover I forgot to build windows… or a door I stepped out this morning Walked to the back of my yard Climbed the fence and looked at the meadow beyond Something ‘bout the open space made me love this human race And forget the things I had held so fond No Room To Run Gonna get some new tools For tearing down these walls that block my way No Room to Run Burning down the old schools The ones that teach that we will be OK With No Room To Run
