From Charleston, SC, The Fire Apes' lead singer, songwriter, and guitarist, John Seymour, often writes metaphorically about love, and relationships using literary references, musically framed with melodic hooks. His music and words can elicit feelings that range from joy and happiness to commiseration and longing. The feel of the music is most commonly considered to be reminiscent of such bands as The Beatles,Green Day, Oasis, The Kinks, and The Pretenders. The Fire Apes understand what the British pop invasion was about and yet transcend the past and merge it with the future. Following their debut CD, "A Perfect Day for Bananafish", and their critically acclaimed sophomore effort, "Central Park Carousel", The Fire Apes have recently completed a new self-titled EP. The melody driven songs that have been the hallmark of The Fire Apes have become a bit more edgy and contemporary.

Lyrics
I only meant to make you happy I never meant to make you cry If you leave I'll leave tomorrow Still I'll always wonder why But oh; I couldn't take anymore Just two lonely people and no more Hey Kate, please wait, oh Kate is it all too late Hey Kate, please wait, oh Kate is it all too late I never meant to cause you sorrow Like the waves against the sky Lacking any more emotion But then again; I don't know why But oh; I couldn't take anymore Just two lonely people and no more Hey Kate, please wait, oh Kate is it all too late Hey Kate, please wait, oh Kate is it all too late I spend all day thinking of you With all the thought you put me through I fell to you for days and days I get on my knees and I pray But oh; I couldn't take anymore Just two lonely people and no more Hey Kate, please wait, oh Kate is it all too late Hey Kate, please wait, oh Kate is it all too late Words and music by John Seymour Copyright 2006
