This is for my daughter back in Dallas...
Artist picture
Mix of blues, funk, pop and rock.
I'm new to this, and I don't have a band at the moment; I did when I lived in Dallas, and now I'm networking to start one in San Diego. I'm a blues guitarist, although sometimes I venture into other types of music too. Hell, I'll play anything written on a $20...

Story behind the song
The melody is a "music box" song I wrote years ago. When my daughter was born, I would play it for her all the time to get her to sleep. Since then, her mother and I divorced, and I wrote this song for my daughter, whom I miss every day.
Lyrics
Just the other night on the telephone You were crying 'cause you want me home. I didn't know what to say. So we talked for a little while, I tried to make you smile And say it's okay. Daddy loves you so... I know my ship takes me far away and I could give my life someday I hope you understand Life's unfair and it can be rough When we fall down we get back up And try again. Daddy loves you so I know you have a new life now With friends and family and a house Your future's bright. Mommy tries to give you the world Because she wants what's best for her little girl And that's alright. 'Cause Mommy loves you so.... I know I won't get to see you much But I know one day our hearts will touch And time will tell If we did it right or wrong 'Cause life's a dance in a Master's song 'Till the ending bells. I'll always love you so....
