This dramatic orchestral song about death is NOT what it seems to be. When you are done, you might want to go back as see what it actually said.
My "band" is a Macintosh Computer with a sequencer and instrument module (software) and a recording simulator called deck. But it is amazing what can be done with these things!
Story behind the song
The story was actually written by my son when he was in high school. With his permission, I made it into a song.
Lyrics
So Did They Fall
I see them there.
Some lie in rows, but most are scattered a018round in disarray.
I see them there.
What force on earth could all so swiftly steal their lives away!
For they are dead!
For they are dead and as they died, so did they fall!
It cut them down,
That gray and mournful wind like none I'd ever felt before.
It cut them down,
That wretched, hateful wind that chilled me to the very core!
Now they are dead!
Now they are dead and as they died, so did they fall!
Those empty eyes!
Mirror to the souls of all the gruff, and silent men in gray.
Those empty eyes!
The ones who place the dead in bags to carry them away.
Yes! they are dead!
Yes! they are dead and as they died, so did they fall!
Some were my friends,
Though they are few among the untold, twisted, lifeless shells.
Some were my family,
But now they're gone into that place where endless silence dwells.
Oh! they are dead!
Oh! they are dead and as they died, so did they fall!
Help me he cried!
Into my arms he flew! He gasped and I could scarcely could hear!
Help me he cried!
And I could feel his heart beat wild with mindless, frantic fear!
And then he died.
And then he died and as he died so did he fall.
Then all at once
I felt the icy touch of that which cut them down!
Then all at once
I withering with the plague! I lost my grip; fell to the ground!
As good as dead!
As good as dead! And as I die so do I fall!
I say good bye
To mother tree who gave me life. I pant with failing breath.
I say good bye
To branches once my home; now leaves all flown in bitter death.
And then I die.
And then I die; I'm just another leaf of fall.
So now you know.
Or did you think this was a tale of some dark tragedy.
So now you know.
Its always happens in the fall to every hard wood tree.
The leaves all die.
The leaves all die and show us why we call it... fall.
