My "band" is a Macintosh Computer with a sequencer and instrument module (software) and a recording simulator called deck. But it is amazing what can be done with these things!

Story behind the song
This song was inspired by a whole bunch of sources.
The first and most obvious source it the old saying, gGod made all men, but Colonel Colt made em equal. (Some sources contend that this was actually a slogan created by Colt to sell his guns).
The second source is a scene from the movie, gEscape from LA,h staring Kurt Russell as gSnake Plisken.h Confronted by four gunmen with machine guns, Snake proposes that they fight by gBankok Rules.h He picks up an old can and says, gNobody draws until this hits the ground.h He tosses the can high into the air and as the bad guys watch it, draws both his weapons and guns them down. The can lands on the gravel with a crunch and after a brief pause, Plisken says, gDraw.h

Next is the knife fight scene from gButch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid,h just because it injects the element of a fight changing from guns to knives.

And finally there is this story from Mark Twainfs gLife on the Mississippi.
Piece of history illustrative of the violent style of some of the people down along here, During the early weeks of high water, A's fence rails washed down on B's ground, and B's rails washed up in the eddy and landed on A's ground. A said, 'Let the thing remain so; I will use your rails, and you use mine.' But B objected -- wouldn't have it so. One day, A came down on B's ground to get his rails. B said, 'I'll kill you!' and proceeded for him with his revolver. A said, 'I'm not armed.' So B, who wished to do only what was right, threw down his revolver; then pulled a knife, and cut A's throat all around, but gave his principal attention to the front, and so failed to sever the jugular. Struggling around, A managed to get his hands on the discarded revolver, and shot B dead with it -- and recovered from his own injuries.
Lyrics
Big Jim was the meanest toughest hombre ever had a 45 revolver strapped down to his thigh.
So everyone was speechless when old Tom he said, you stole my herd, I have em back or know the reason why.
But Big Jim said, " I swear it wasn't me, I didn't do it. Didn't even take one lousy steer or calf.
But you can have em back again. You only have to fight me for em. And he gave a nasty laugh!"
Jim then pushed aside his dirty over coat uncovering the gleaming 45 he always wore
Old Tom, he snorts and looks at Jim He says I used to have a gun but you know I don't carry one no more.
Then, knives it is big Jim replies, unbuckling his gunbelt. He drops it to the ground and lets it lay.
They draw their knives , Big Jim starts forward, Old Tom eyes him cautiously as bit by bit he slowly backs away.
Chorus
It was God, my son, He made everyone,
But the sayinf has a sequel.
Cause itfs true, you bet, donft you dare not forget
It was Colonel Colt, what made eem equal.
The two men circle warily. They feint and jab a time or two. Across Jim's face there spreads an evil grin.
I am bigger, stronger, faster and, meaner . It donft matter how he tries, there ain't no way that Tom can ever win.
Suddenly Tom takes his knife He tosses it into the air. Jim waches it go arching through the sky.
And as he turns to run Tom hollers You can have them cattle cause I sure ain't gonna hang around and die.
Jim watches as the knife come falling down. Sees it at his feet. He picks it up and tosses it away.
While hollfring here I thought that you were really gonna fight me. Well I guess this proves you're yeller like they say.
Jim looks up to see Tom with the gun. Tom, he shakes his head, says no it just proves you ainft very smart.
And the last thing big Jim ever sees is smoke pour from the barrel just before the bullet plugs him through the heart.
It was God, my son, He made everyone,
But the sayinf has a sequel.
Cause itfs true, you bet, donft you dare not forget
It was Colonel Colt, what made eem equal. (repeat)
