Hi, I've been writing songs since I was twelve years old, and recording them since 1985. Roger Cook (of the Cook-Greenaway-Cook songwriting partnership and Blue Mink, etc) once wrote that I have the ability to write a hit single and that he was waiting for one from me. He also said I need to 'lighten up a bit', unquote. F*ck that!

Story behind the song
This is a very old song. Someone turned up at my place making outrageous demands of me, and I had prior commitments that couldn't be changed. Then we had a blazing row and I wrote this song the following day. The basic backing track of drums, bass and acoustic guitar was recorded on a cheap cassette portastudio, then a year or two later I transferred it to 8-track and added the overdubs. Many thanks to Tania Williams for her whispered vocal. Love and hugs, Nick. xxx
