I got a Roy Rogers guitar with song book for Christmas in 1958. I learned a little and put it aside. In '63 a kid brought his electric guitar to school and played "Pipeline" at our sock hop. It looked easy, so I started a garage band. Eventually, I needed money for gas and dates, so I got a real job. We disbanded in '66, but best friend, Freddie, and I kept jamming over the years. We recently worked on a song he wrote and it inspired me to write my own music. Please listen and post a message.

Story behind the song
While spending a week at the beach on vacation, my Dad was checked into Shands hospital for surgery, I drove to Gainesville to offer support. The surgeon called off the operation because the tumor spread throughout his abdomen. He was given a few weeks to live (he fought it for 16 weeks). After spending the rest of day with my folks, I returned to the beach house to resume vacation and put together this chord progression. I never could put words to it, 7/95.
