Story behind the song
I was motivated to write this song when a popular footballer at my local club moved on to (maybe) bigger and better things. This song is for anyone who worships someone from a far, cannot tell them and watches them leave.
Lyrics
Heart & Soul by Neil Haigh They sold you out I know But I still love you, heart and soul I know you’ve got to go But I feel so sad Their tearing down your name But I still love you all the same You’re taking all the blame It makes me mad You’re leaving town And its getting my down I’m gonna miss you A star that shines so far away You’ve got to go I know But I still love you, heart and soul You’re chasing down your goal And I should feel glad - You’re leaving town And its getting my down I’m gonna miss you Your star now shines so far away You’re leaving town I know Whilst I still love you, heart and soul Its better that you go But I still feel sad
