Story behind the song
That Glorious Hour was originally based out of Psalm 116 (which just so happens to be the tempo of the song) but became a song about the resurrection of Christ. Jesus proved His love on a cross. The promise of Salvation and proof that Jesus is our Savior was sealed by His resurrection. "That Glorious Hour" was written about how the Lord’s resurrection directly relates to us. We are forever free from the fear of death! We never have to fear separation from God ever. “Jesus also became flesh and blood by being born in human form. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the Devil, who had the power of death. Only in this way could he deliver those who have lived all their lives as slaves to the fear of death.” (Hebrews 2:14-15) “Where O Death is your sting?” (1 Corinthians 15:51-57) Hallelujah! (Daniel, Catherine, Christine)
Lyrics
That Glorious Hour (On Easter Morn) You proved your love on a tree You bled and died to rescue me But death could never hold you there You rose again new life to share I love you Lord For you knew my need for mercy I love you Lord You conquered death for me On Easter morn, that glorious hour, Sin and death have lost their power! From death to life you were raised, Now we will never cease to praise! CHORUS Where O grave is your sting? You rose again so I can sing Death is swallowed in victory Your resurrection set us free Hallelujah! Daniel and Catherine Lovett ©2003 Reflect Music
