Where I was born, to live was to suffer, The daily scrap was off the streets, We had to fight for a place to sleep, Not uncommon to lie for your keep. I lost my Dad before I was twelve, One burdened Mom raised six and me, At twenty-one our world fell down, I blamed the sky cause she was heaven bound.
