Lyrics
My Bonnie Scotland Copyright Words by John Paragreen; Music by Stanley Loh September 30, 2004 VERSE 1 We don't build big ships on the Clyde no more, And coal dust settled down in Fife, Aberdeen is an oil town now, Gone are the horse drawn ploughs, My Scotland may change, But her strength remains. VERSE 2 My blood stirs in me when the bagpipes play, And the thistle in my heart stands proud, Tartan knights already strong, In my mind nothing’s wrong, I march with the change, And my strength remains. Chorus Sweet smell of heather, Misty stormy weather, Where the true brave hearts beat, In glens and cobbled streets, My bonnie, my bonnie Scotland. VERSE 3 Some seek the golden crown in foreign shores, Oh no, no not me, I’ll just stay Plain and simple, plain and clear, My heart and my soul lie here, No land can compare, I’ll breathe the Scottish air.
