Story behind the song
Written some 14 years ago, I was reading a newspaper article about runaway street kids and their plight. Hope this song has some impact on both parent and child.
Lyrics
Oh Come On Home By Stan Loh, May 10, 1990 Sittin’ alone in my lonely room, Nuthin’ to do but worryin’ ‘bout you, Oh come on home, Oh come on home. It’s been two long years since you left home, Two long years, the streets I combed, Just searchin’ for you, Oh come on home. You were so very young the day you ran away. I didn’t see your reason, and you wouldn’t stay. Now the tears I cry, won’t bring you back, Can’t talk to you cause you can’t hear, Oh come on home, Oh come on home. I tried to tell you thru the ads I placed, Altho’ I knew you can’t be traced, Cause you’re not known, they told me so. Last week I heard you were in Saskatchewan, I rushed out there and found that you had just gone. How do you live? Where do you sleep? What do you eat? Do you have heat? Oh come on home, Oh come on home. I worry to death for your health, my child. I was blind to your point, to your cries, Oh please come on home, Oh come on home, I love you so, Oh please come home, Oh come on home.
