Story behind the song
This song was written and recorded for Q's first album, "A Special Occasion". When we recorded it the first time, we didn't have a whole lot of time to rehearse it, so the end result was not exactly what we had in mind. Even though the message rang through loud and clear, we felt the need to re-record it for the second album. According to Jon Owen, the producer of this track, he felt that this message was too important to ruin with a bad recording. Thanks for doing it right, Jon!
Lyrics
Life- it left you long ago when you left your God and walked away. But love- it still flows forth from those with the Lord who decided to stay. You feel like its too late  to turn around and come running back to the one who still loves you. But its never too late to go back to the one who created love and forgiveness, too. Chorus: How can you live without loving the Lord? And how can you turn, and not answer the door to your heart? When it seems you don't know what to do, don't forget, he still loves you. The Lord- he's still reaching out to bring you home where you belong. But you- you're the only one who can come back from where your life has gone. The Lord still waits with patience, reaching out to you (you know that he still cares). All you have to do is take the hand of the Lord who's always there. Chorus Bridge: You may be sinking deep in a sea of sin with no hope in sight. But the lifeline to you is the love of the Lord He'll make it all right. Chorus
