Story behind the song
This song was one of the hardest songs to record for the album. While laying down the first part of it, three takes were done, and even then quality didn't seem up to par. It was only after harmony vocals were added the song seemed to revive itself. An overall moody track, "loveindelusiona" tells the tale of a complex relationship along the lines "King Of My World, "Maybe We're In Love" and "If You Love Her." A and B have both moved from their previous relationship, but B has returned, wanting reconciliation. A has never really lost their original feelings for B and thus becomes confused. But while "If You Love Her" appears to have some kind of control and lashes out at the other party for their ficklemindedness, the narrator in "loveindelusiona" seems frantic, vulnerable, and unsure of what to do. Deception and delusion, common themes on When Desire Collide are reiterated through "loveindelusiona." The images of lightness and darkness are also repeated, interwoven with the minor/major melody.
Lyrics
The city lights are bright The stars shine bright tonight Why do you call me The candlelight is dim So dims your ghostly grin Your arms reach out again for me In silent cry In silent prayer You see my face But I'm not there In blinding white In deathly dark You call out for me to get where you are The sky is dazzling blue Your eyes are dazzling blue You fall into disease I am your tortured sin Where to even begin It all becomes deceased With roses white With maidens fair I cry your name But you don't dare In blinding white In deathly dark I tumble down to lie down where you are Like a broken spark Like a pseudonym I'd sacrifice But you're not him For this sourness For we just can't speak Maybe Maybe Maybe we are deceived I'm glad you are my dream Glad you're not what you seem Am I falling through...
